hey guys. so two years ago, March 20, 2024, I released the first version of freerider.app.
hey guys. so two years ago, March 20, 2024, I released the first version of freerider.app. it was a very different site then. it was basically a home for every small free rider experiment I made + other community dev projects I loved (including the original dream machine editor).
the core idea of rideable webpages was super fun to play with, and it got some positive reception from the community as a pretty neat site! it lit a fire under my feet to work on more free rider projects.
the project was generally a solo endeavor, as much as I would've enjoyed a community-made thing. a few members made galleries, but without an "editor", it didn't catch on (and sadly, sharing my pastebin password seems to have gotten my account banned, so the created pages are gone)
a few months later, with the release of track editor 1.1, the original site was taken down. it was brought back temporarily on a different url, but I don't think it has been working for a while. I'm not sure if there's any future plans for the site, but for nostalgia's sake I figured I'd bring it back online. check it out here:
so for now, a quick look back at what has passed. maybe sometime soon I'll talk about what's to come. much love and many thanks to everyone that has been on this journey with me.
